NWEA MAP Testing

District testing to measure student growth

NCSD uses the Northwest Education Association's (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments to measure student growth within a year as well as year-over-year.

These assessments are offered K-9, and students take them two or three times per year, always in the fall and spring.

MAP tests help teachers determine a student's levels compared with national averages on the same tests.

NWEA provides skill based data that helps teachers determine where students are ready to learn for optimal growth and minimal frustration.

Available Tests

  • Kindergarten - 9th grade
    • Reading
    • Language Arts
    • Math
  • 5th, 8th, and 9th grade
    • Science
